How to Layer Necklaces

The layered necklace look is more than just a trend - it’s a classic look that has no sign of going out of style. If you’re like us and want to make the most of the necklaces in your jewelry box, this is a must read! Follow our tips on how to create your perfect necklace stack!

Easy Rules for Layering Necklaces

I like to start with 2-4 necklaces. More than that can start to look messy and get all tangled up. Layer the different lengths. The key is to have gaps between chains. And to have equal amounts of space between the gaps – so the space is “filled”.

Mix and match chain styles. Layer the delicate necklaces with chunky chains. The juxtaposition keeps it interesting.

TIP #1: LENGTH VARIATION Having different necklace lengths is a must to achieve the dreamy cascade of layers. We recommend wearing necklaces 2” apart from each other for the perfect look.

TIP #2: COMBINE DIFFERENT CHAIN STYLES This is wear your inner stylist shines! Combine thinner chain necklaces with thicker chain necklaces. Adding contrasting textures & styles will make your stack more interesting, and as a plus, it’ll also tangle less! You can also throw in a coin necklace into the mix.
